Description

Landmark Bridge, which spans the mouth of Kananook Creek, was completed in the early 2000s' and replaced an existing footbridge.  Measuring 4 metres across, and 20 metres in length, it is a metal and concrete structure incorporating distinctive crossed arches.  A favourite subject for photographers, the bridge is especially captivating with a sunset backdrop.  At night, the bridge features an impressive arrangement and composition of lights.  Landmark Bridge is located at the Frankston waterfront and is a highlight of the scenic Frankston foreshore boardwalk.  The boardwalk extends from near the foot of Oliver's Hill to the Frankston Life Saving Club; both the bridge and boardwalk are wheelchair accessible.  In 2018, the bridge underwent a refurbishment to repair and prevent corrosion.
