Where raising kids is child's play

Frankston City is designed firmly with families in mind. With a higher proportion of young people (0-18 years old) than the national average, this is a place where keeping kids entertained is a top priority, all year round. With thousands of hectares of stunning natural open space to explore, over 600 parcels of parks, gardens and sporting grounds, 11 kilometres of gorgeous beaches and 124 playgrounds in every corner of the city, our kids are never sitting still for long!

Playgrounds are our love language

We know that living near to play spaces, parks, bike tracks and gardens are really important for families. And that's why we have an award-winning Play Strategy that has ensured a vibrant network of inclusive space spaces within walking distance of homes in every suburb.

There are 124 unique play spaces across the city, with the award-winning Frankston Regional Foreshore Playground coming in right at the top.

A sprawling, safely fenced wonderland of castles, tunnels and shaded sandpits where kids can run completely wild.

Another local gem is Ballam Park, an all-ages super-playground paradise with separate zones for little and big kids. Imagine water play, zip wires, a basketball zone, skate area, spaces to climb, swing and slide, all set in the widest of open spaces to run, ride, and roam.

But wait – there's more

When the Melbourne weather takes a turn, head indoors. Local family entertainment venues serve up laser tag, virtual reality arcades, ten-pin bowling, mini golf, rock climbing, and roller skating.
