Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve

Few reserves in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs carry the character of Langwarrin.

A former military training ground used for nearly 100 years, from 1886 to 1979, the reserve is now one of the most significant remnant bushland areas on the Mornington Peninsula fringe, home to 300 indigenous flora species representing 45% of all species native to the Peninsula.

Walking, horse riding and cycling trails cross the reserve, and the Langwarrin Historical Trail tells the story of its military past through interpretive signage along the way.

Keep an eye out for koalas, swamp wallabies, echidnas and the rare New Holland mouse.
