2026 Street Art Studio Auction
As part of the Frankston Street Art Festival and South Side Festival, an empty retail space at Bayside Shopping Centre has been transformed into a pop-up street art gallery located upstairs in the former Toys R Us space off Shannon Street Mall. The pop-up gallery has artworks ranging from murals, graffiti writing, paste ups, cut outs and a sticker wall you can contribute to. The gallery will be open every Saturday from 10am – 4pm until the Street Art Studio Closing Party on Saturday 16 May.
In the Studio you will see that the artists have painted on temporary walls, with selected removable sections available for public bidding through a silent auction, offering the opportunity to own an original piece of street art which was created during the Frankston Street Art Festival.
If you are wanting to bid on an artwork from this site simply follow the steps below:
- Select your chosen artist from the Featured Artists list below
- Once on the specific artist page, select the artwork/s you would like to bid on
- Click onto ‘Bid on this artwork HERE’ link
- Fill out the auction form
- Online bidding closes at 5pm on Friday 15 May
- Final bids will be taken live and in-person at the Street Art Studio Closing Party on Saturday 16 May from 6pm – 7:30pm (bids strictly close at 7:30pm!)
If you decide to visit the Studio in person when it is open on Saturdays, you can also scan the QR codes within the gallery once you are in the space and viewing the artwork. Where you can follow the same steps above.
Details about final bids
Online bidding will close at 5pm on Friday 15 May. The highest bidder at the time will be emailed to advise them that they are currently the highest bidder.
The highest online bid will then form the base price for which the live bidding will start from on Saturday 16 May. Live bidding starts at 6pm – 7:30pm (strictly closes at 7:30pm).
If you are unable to attend on the night, do try to send someone on your behalf to make sure no one out-bids you. Successful bidders on the night will be able to pay for and collect their art at the end of the night.
Successful bidders who aren’t able to attend on the night of the Closing Party - a payment link will be sent to you for payment of the artwork and collection from Frankston Art Centre. Payment and collection must be arranged within seven (7) days of notification that you are the successful bidder. If payment is not received within this timeframe, the artwork will be offered to the next highest bidder at their bid amount.
