Description
Mural Name: Would you take a seat
Artist: Shaun Devenney
Artist Biography:
Shaun Devenney (Dev) was born in Paisley, Scotland in 1995. He was raised there where he was influenced by traditional painting and drawing. He travelled South East Asia and Japan before moving to Australia where he is now based.
Inspired by classical painters and modern muralists, Dev's paintings attempt to document parts of everyday life which can otherwise be seen as mundane. His works exude an inherent sentimentality that is often influenced by nostalgia and the people he has met during his travels.
Description of Artwork:
A rework of a painting from my solo show in 2025 revisited and pushed further. The biggest change being the background, inspired by J.M.W. Turner’s The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons 1834.
