Artist Bio:

Candela Alconada, also known as Candela Colors, is an Argentinian artist and muralist based in Melbourne, and was the winner of our 2024 People's Choice Award!

Candela is known for creating colourful and enchanting scenes that explore the intertwined relationship between the natural, fantastical, and human worlds.Her illustration and drawing practice are the foundations of her style and the initial step for developing any kind of artwork.

Since starting her mural practice in 2016, Candela has painted vibrant murals in countries across the globe, including Singapore, the Philippines, Spain, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Australia.

Candela’s art speaks to her inner child, through the use of vibrant colours, whimsical characters, and narratives filled with curiosity and wonder. Her work captures a joyful innocence and a sense of magic, inviting viewers to reconnect with the boundless imagination of their own childhood.

Artist Description of Artwork:

"Fun House" is an invitation to remain curious and playful even when the world seems chaotic and challenging. This mural is a portal to childhood wonder in the midst of urban life. An escape from adult pressures, encouraging people to pause, wonder, and rediscover the simple joy of seeing the world through unconstrained eyes.
