Accessible Event Information
The Big Picture Fest takes place in multiple locations across the Frankston City Centre. There is no distinct boundary, and visitors are encouraged to wander at their own pace. The Block Party will be staged in Park Lane, Frankston on Friday 22 March, 2024. There will be road closures in place for this event. Please keep reading below for some general notes and considerations regarding access to help you plan your time at Big Picture Fest 2024.
Surfaces – Big Picture Fest takes place in various streets and laneways within Frankston’s City Centre – surfaces are made of different materials including concrete, asphalt, stones and brick. As such, they may be uneven and some assistance may be required for people in wheelchairs or with other mobility devices.
Parking – There is no specific event parking identified. Frankston City Centre has a range of parking options, including on-street free (timed) and paid. Please review the options and select the parking option, best suited to your needs.
Free (timed) parking is available on all city centre streets, including; Thompson Street, Wells Street, Young Street, Keys Street, Playne Street and Nepean Highway.
Paid parking is available at Bayside Centre, Bayside Entertainment Centre and Frankston Arts Centre. Please check entry signs for times and pricing information.
Park Lane and Park Row will be closed to vehicles for The Block Party, from 6am Friday 22 March until 3am Saturday 23 March. Pedestrians access will be maintained during this time.
Activities – There’s plenty to see and do throughout The Big Picture Fest. If you are after a quieter time to view the artwork we recommending visiting throughout the day.
Facilities & Accessibility - The Block Party
What other facilities are on site?
Toilets – There are toilet facilities located within the event site.
Drinking water - Wallop Water will be ready to assist with your hydration needs! Don’t forget to bring your reusable bottle to refill! Bottled water can be purchased from food vendors.
ATM – There is no ATM within the event site.
Baby Care – Unfortunately there is no parent facilities within the event. The Frankston Library is a short walk away and is open until 7pm. Alternatively baby change facilities can be found within Bayside Centre, open until 9pm on Friday evening.
Are there accessible parking options?
There is no specific event car parking, but on-street free (timed) parking is available throughout Frankston’s City Centre within a short walk to the Block Party including; Thompson Street, Wells Street, Playne Street and Nepean Highway.
Paid parking is available at Bayside Entertainment Centre and Bayside Centre. Please see entrance boards for current pricing.
Will there be food and drinks available?
Yes, there will be a range of food and drink available at The Block Party. For more information see The Block Party page.
Can I consume alcohol at The Block Party?
Yes, our event sponsors Pirate Life, Hickinbotham of Dromana, That Spirited Lot and Ten Sixty One will be serving the best alcoholic beverages that you will can purchase and consume within the licensed event. There is no BYO.
What time will the performances be on?
The stage performances will kick off from 4.30pm on Friday 22 March. There will be performances from Gut Health, Bananagun, Milku, Tamara and The Dreams and DJ Obliveus, as well as street performances by Born in a Taxi and projection artwork from Fraz The Wizard. A full line-up including set times will be put on the website as soon as this information is confirmed.
Can I take public transport to the event?
We encourage you wherever possible to take public transport to the event, plan your journey here.
Will the Festival still run in extreme weather conditions?
In some conditions it may be necessary for aspects of the event to be modified. In extreme conditions, where it is deemed unsafe to continue, artworks and programming may be delayed or cancelled. You can keep up to date by following Discover Frankston on socials here.
