Free Christmas Activities 

From 4.30pm onwards the Frankston Arts Centre, Cube 37 and the Frankston Library will be a-buzz with free Christmas activities for all of the family to enjoy. From Christmas crafts and family portraits to live stage shows, there will be plenty happening in the precinct.

The Smurfs Winter Wonderland Live Show

Bundle up and get ready to celebrate the festive season with our adorable little blue friends…  The Smurfs!

It’s Christmas and Smurfette is ready to light up the stage with her Rock’n Roll Christmas Party Hop.

But will Papa Smurf be able to get over his stage fright? Get ready to sing along.

Get ready to dance along in a Smurf Village Christmas kind of way!

 

Make sure you schedule in to see one of the four free shows in the Frankston Arts Centre theatre.  Admission will be on a first come first served basis (capacity is limited). Doors open from 4:30pm.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Photo Shoots

Awkward Portraits is Melbourne's original and best provider of (intentionally) daggy portraiture. Taking normal good-looking people, they dress them in horrid outfits, place them in uncomfortable poses, and

photograph them for years of enjoyment! Visit Frankston Arts Centre to have your chance to be part of the fun!  Costumes and props are provided, unless you want to come fully equipped in your own daggy Christmas attire.  Due to the demand for this free activity, this will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Join us for an enchanting Storytime experience at the Frankston Library every hour at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30pm (special Story Time with Mrs Claus).

Join us for a magical Story Time with Mrs. Claus. Gather around as the beloved Mrs. Claus shares enchanting Christmas tales that will bring the spirit of Christmas to life through storytelling. Don’t miss out on this experience—Mrs. Claus is waiting to share her favourite story and spread some Christmas joy

Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle's present the "Christmas Surprise!" Show.

Join Chris as he looks for the perfect surprise Christmas gift in an all-puppet-run pop-up Prank Shop. The puppets have LOADS of great suggestions, although many of them may not be all that helpful! The 25-minute show is full of colourful characters, laughs, original songs and visual surprises, and appeals to people aged 0-187. Come along to Frankston Library and join in the fun!

Sensory Space - 4.30-8.00pm  


Peninsula Autism Friendship Group is an autistic-led, non-profit organisation providing connection and support to neurodivergent individuals and their families. We will be offering a calm sensory space for families who need a break from the excitement of the Frankston Christmas Festival. The space will include sensory activities, space to unwind, and supportive facilitators.

Dive into the world of books, sing your favourite songs, and dance along with our talented storytellers. Plus, keep an eye out for some very special surprise guests throughout the evening!

Frankston Library Giving Tree  

In partnership with local charities Frankston Life Community and Community Support Frankston, Council is encouraging residents to support our local community by gifting non-perishable food items and un-used, unwrapped toys to the Frankston City Libraries Christmas Giving Tree.Food items suitable for donation include canned fruit or vegetables, packets of cereal, pasta, rice, biscuits and pre-cooked desserts (for example: puddings, fruit cake) containers of jam, spreads and sauces. (No alcohol please). 

Non-perishable items donated at the giving tree will be passed on to local people struggling this Christmas. Hampers with the donated items will be distributed at the Frankston Life Community Christmas Lunch. Donations of brand new toys for all age ranges are also welcome. Donated gifts can also include, books, colouring books, pencils and other items suitable for children to use and play with all year round. (Items that have been used cannot be accepted) 

Community Support Frankston Inc. is a not-for-profit community support agency which provides services including emergency food, grocery vouchers, help with utility bills, referrals and advocacy for people who live, or work in the City of Frankston.  

Start your night at Frankston's Christmas Festival by donating to this great community cause. Donations are being accepted until Friday 20th December.

Join Mornington Peninsula artist, Amanda Nelson who will be running a free interactive program for young people aged 4+ and their guardians. This arts and crafts activity is a wonderful way for families to explore artistic expression together at Frankston's Christmas Festival.
