Description
Sarah & Baillieu Myer Education Pavilion
Designed by highly acclaimed Kerstin Thompson Architects, this purpose-built and elegantly proportioned space complements the architecturally significant Gallery, and allows McClelland to expand its exciting education programs, as well as corporate events and private functions. The adjoining Graham Family Terrace is a grass-covered outdoor space with views over the park and McClelland’s unique collection of sculptures.
Boasting 156 square meters, the Pavilion features 3.6-metre high ceilings with glass doors offering stunning vistas of the Sculpture Park’s natural amphitheatre. It is equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, shower and toilets, and accommodates bespoke catered events for up to 120 people. A first in Victoria for a medium sized museum, the building also includes a 27.6kWp PV solar power system consisting of 91 panels with micro-inverter technology which significantly offsets the venue’s energy use into the future.
